On May 4 and 5, it was that time again: We at ALVARA invited to the Cash Dialogue for Retail in spring. With interested representatives from retail companies, we focused on the topic of cash and the challenges associated with it in Leipzig. The result of the productive exchange: current insights, many great suggestions, and exciting digital future ideas.
ALVARA Cash Dialogue Spring 2023
A venue with a view - over Leipzig. The City High-Rise was the perfect meeting place for our exchange, focusing on the future of cash logistics. As every year, the door was open to ALVARA customers as well as any interested parties. We had prepared an exciting agenda for the two days. Always with the goal in mind to promote exchange and thereby create new incentives for the digitization and automation of processes. Therefore, the topics of the second day were primarily part of workshops and discussion sessions.

Data Gold – one of the main topics
What currently occupies the participants from retail the most was quickly clear: data. Because they are often available but not yet optimally used. The result: the data treasure remains undiscovered. Thus, it is very relevant to automatically collect, enrich, and analyze the available data. The solution developed: The ICC Management Cockpit. It visualizes all relevant data in a graphical interface.
But communication with the value service providers (WDL) also moved into focus as an agenda item. The idea of the participants: Through Interactive Cash Control (ICC), workflows from the retailers' back office are increasingly automated and manual processes are reduced to a few special topics. This creates space to deal with current challenges for retail, logistics, and the connection of both through cash disposal and supply. These aspects are particularly essential for us to be able to develop solutions along the "real" problems. True to the motto: From practice for practice.
On the trail of solutions
The goal of the Cash Dialogue is not only to collect challenges but always to focus on the necessary solutions. So we built on the initial ideas and dug deeper. For the Manager Cockpit, for example, desires were already collected regarding which information the application should display.
Additional proposals for the future of retailers included:
- – the recording and evaluation of safe inventory via photo capture,
- – further development of app functionalities,
- – advancing AI research for further automation, and
- – optimizing reporting (ongoing process).
We at ALVARA are already working intensively on the last two points.
Outlook for the Fall
Lively exchange, valuable insights, hidden potentials, and current innovation power – the Cash Dialogue for Retail in May 2023 was once again a highlight for us. Due to the promising ideas and the opportunity to network without restrictions, the exchange is firmly planned again for the fall. You can look forward to first drafts for the Manager Cockpit and much more. As soon as the program and date are set, we will gladly inform you.
