ALVARA | Digital Solutions is an independent one-time code provider for lock systems by INSYS locks

Leipzig, 28.04.2021 ALVARA | Digital Solutions and INSYS locks offer automated and certified cash management as a service—from high-security locks to the generation of one-time codes. The latter allows companies in the retail and banking sector to successfully optimize access to their safes or recycling devices. This avoids cumbersome processes and waiting times for service providers. The cooperation between the provider of track & trace software solutions and the manufacturer of certified security and lock systems has already proven itself with numerous customers.

Lock systems from INSYS locks are opened using one-time codes (OTC) – physical keys become unnecessary, and risks and costs are significantly reduced. After all, keys can no longer be lost. The one-time codes for opening the devices and collecting the cash can be flexibly and on-demand generated in real-time 24/7/365 via the online platform "Interactive Cash Control (ICC)" and provided with complete logging. With the logistics apps from ALVARA | Digital Solutions, users can retrieve the one-time codes anytime and on the go. Provision, operation, and monitoring of the one-time code hardware are carried out in certified data centers, guaranteeing high reliability through redundancy and a 24/7/365 hotline.

"The management of keys and the often laborious list-keeping are completely eliminated for companies in the retail and banking sectors. External service providers, such as cash-in-transit service providers, can be quickly involved in the process. The CIT driver's opening code is only delivered to his smartphone when he is in front of the smart safe, ATM, or cash recycler and is authorized," explains ALVARA | Digital Solutions Managing Director Thomas Vietze. "Moreover, with OTC, we reduce the risk that unauthorized individuals can open locks with static – always the same and therefore insecure – number combinations."

With the option of emergency opening, owners of the cash can generate their opening codes at any time, should a CIT fail at short notice. This provides a reliable backup variant for secured processes for the customer in any case. Technician deployments are also greatly simplified with one-time codes: "Analogous to emergency opening, a technician can access via a one-time code to fix a fault—without needing a CIT driver to open the devices. The technician nearby can intervene immediately, instead of additionally requesting a CIT with the appropriate key. This not only conserves resources but also significantly increases the availability of machines and devices," explains Thomas Vietze.

Additionally, the generation of one-time codes prevents service technicians or CIT drivers from meeting with branch employees on site to open or maintain the smart safes and cash recyclers—especially an essential advantage during pandemic times. "We protect those working at the machine because we provide the code digitally, and no one else is needed to open the smart safes and cash recyclers," adds ALVARA | Digital Solutions Managing Director Steven Schwarznau. "Here, the solutions from INSYS locks simply convince us with their flexibility. Systems like the EloStar® Master GS have, for instance, five different operating mode settings to meet all customer demands."

For nearly 30 years, INSYS locks has been developing and manufacturing high-quality systems tailored to the specific needs of its customers. "We highly value the cooperation with ALVARA | Digital Solutions—as do our customers. Together, we offer a complete cash management solution where all factors cleverly interlock in favor of security," concludes Detlef Lücke, Head of Division at INSYS locks.
