ALVARA | Digital Solutions: Logistic App enables efficient cash logistics processes at Götz

Leipzig, 14.07.2021. Götz-Geld- und Wertedienste GmbH in Dresden has been successfully using the Logistic App from ALVARA | Digital Solutions since 01.06.2021, setting the course for a future-oriented digitization of their cash logistics processes. The company is part of the Götz Group, which is represented throughout Europe, and employs 75 staff members at the Dresden location.

The rollout for the ALVARA | Digital Solutions logistics solution as a pilot project at the Dresden location for Götz Geld- und Wertedienste GmbH took place on 01.04.2021. In addition to introducing the app, new scanner technology also had to be implemented. After a short start-up period, the pilot project was finalized at the end of May, and the mobile application commenced regular operation on 01.06.2021. Daniel Reichelt, Branch Manager in Dresden for Götz Geld- und Wertedienste: “The colleagues very much welcome the use of the app. Both the app itself and the scanners offer high user-friendliness, so the acclimatization period for the staff was pleasantly short. As an interim conclusion, we can say that the app is very successful,” Reichelt summarized.

The Logistic App from ALVARA | Digital Solutions significantly optimizes and streamlines processes in cash logistics: For cash collection from retail companies, the driver receives a safe bag, scans it, and finally, the receipt of the cash transfer is signed directly on the scanner. "Previously, the receipt had to be printed in duplicate for signing and kept by both the retailer and the cash service provider. The signature on the scanner along with the digital provision of the receipt makes time-consuming printing with subsequent physical storage fundamentally unnecessary,” explains ALVARA | Digital Solutions Managing Director Steven Schwarznau.

Thanks to digital driver authentication, cash transport drivers can also quickly and easily authenticate themselves with retailers or branch offices. For example, if a branch employee of a financial institution or retailer scans the QR code displayed on the Götz driver's scanner with a smartphone, they are immediately shown whether the driver is authorized to collect cash. “This not only speeds up the authentication but is also preferable for data protection reasons compared to the often-used paper lists of cash service provider drivers,” explains Steven Schwarznau. Keys are also becoming digital: In the future, Götz plans to create one-time codes for opening cash recyclers or ATMs directly on-site using the driver's app.

Cash service providers like Götz Geld- und Wertedienste and their customers benefit equally: They can digitally document the cash process from collection to arrival at the cash center in real-time for the first time. Because: The data of the cash handover is immediately transferred to and secured in the online platform Interactive Cash Control (ICC) − not just at the end of the tour by the Götz driver. Improved security in driver authentication also comes with less effort: time-consuming manual searches in driver lists are eliminated. Digital receipts make storing printed documents with the retailer and cash service provider unnecessary. It is also possible to search specifically for a particular cash handover receipt in the system digitally – which saves a considerable amount of time.

“The overall security of the cash transfer is significantly increased by the Logistic App from ALVARA | Digital Solutions. Easier control and better tracking mean that both the retail and financial institutions can see that their cash service provider is working with modern and secure processes – like Götz Geld- und Wertedienste,” says ALVARA | Digital Solutions Managing Director Thomas Vietze. The mobile solution also excels in its usability. “The complete changeover to the new scanner technology was very successful at our Dresden location. The reactions of the staff were consistently positive, and the error rate was almost zero from the start,” reports Daniel Reichelt. After the successful introduction of the app, including new scanner technology, at the Chemnitz location on 06.07.2021, the Regensburg location of Götz Geld- und Wertedienste is also set to soon switch to the mobile solution from ALVARA | Digital Solutions.
