Whether automating cash handling, reducing risks, or giving cashiers more time to serve customers: cash recyclers have long become a must-have in retail. For an automatic start of the payment process, integration into the POS software is necessary. However, this process is complex, time-consuming, and expensive due to the multitude of different POS systems. With the universal "POS Connector," ALVARA | Digital Solutions provides a simple and quickly implementable middleware that can be locally installed on Windows POS software or an Android tablet and additionally allows for flexibility and individual adjustments.
The integration of the "POS Connector" proceeds smoothly in collaboration with the POS provider via a single API and independent of knowledge about the machine environment. "Users can manage all functions of the cash recycler via the user-friendly interface. Access to the various functions is done directly through the main menu and is therefore extremely easy," explains ALVARA | Digital Solutions Managing Director Thomas Vietze. This applies to transactions such as (cash) payments, cashback, and change management as well as the management of inventory, replenishment, empties, or coin jams.
Since the solution can manage most of the market-leading cash recyclers, it enables quick and reliable communication between the POS software and the device. The multi-platform is also compatible with Windows and Android POS software. "The immediate data export of transactions to the universal platform is another advantage of the POS Connector," adds ALVARA | Digital Solutions Managing Director Bernd Hohlfeld. Combined with a cloud-based reporting and automation platform, the stocks, transactions, and technical status of the cash recycler are centralized on a secure web portal for reporting and third-party software integration for retailers, security service providers, and banks.
