DWSI SECURITY relies on Logistic App for efficient cash logistics processes

Efficient cash logistics: For many retailers and financial institutions, these terms are still not compatible today. The reason: numerous processes related to counting, sorting, and depositing cash are largely manual - requiring financial and personnel resources. That cash and value transport companies can make their collaboration with retailers as well as banks and savings banks more sustainable and time-saving through digital solutions has now been impressively demonstrated by DWSI Geld- und Wert-Logistik GmbH & Co.

Roll-out: Rapid introduction of the Logistic App

Individual security concepts, service orientation, and efficient value logistics - these are the hallmarks of the private Saxon security company, which has been offering services to SMEs and large companies for over 30 years. Its comprehensive security service also includes cash transport. To ensure the promise of sustainable collaboration with relevant cash players, DWSI Geld- und Wert-Logistik GmbH & Co has been relying on a digital everyday assistant from ALVARA | Digital Solutions since the first quarter of 2023.

The value service provider, one of the market leaders in Saxony, has decided to use the Logistic App and made it available to its approximately 300 employees during the successful roll-out at the Dresden site. “It was quickly accepted because the application is intuitively usable. At the same time, we introduced a market-proven Android scanner solution that works optimally with the app,” explains DWSI Managing Director Ingo Hartmann.

Process optimization - with tangible added values

What has specifically changed? The cash courier authorization is now digitally possible with the mobile application. Paper lists that were meant to confirm the authorization of a cash courier to retailers or branch staff are a thing of the past for DWSI - which is also welcome for data protection reasons. The optimized process consists of quickly verifying a QR code on the DWSI courier's scanner using the retailer's or store's smartphone. Without long searches, staff can see whether the courier is authorized for cash collection. This increases security during transfer and noticeably saves time.

In cash disposal and supply, DWSI has also paved the way for a paperless future. For a retail customer, drivers currently print the receipt in duplicate, both sides sign it and then keep it. The last aspect, archiving, is now digital. As a result, those responsible no longer have to search for paper receipts but can successfully research them within seconds. If the requirement to print paper receipts in duplicate is eliminated in the future, the preceding processes related to printing and signing on paper can also be easily digitized.

In the future, thanks to the Logistic App, the generation of one-time codes, which are necessary to open cash recyclers or ATMs, can be done via the app. In this way, DWSI couriers can access the digital keys directly on-site.

Cash transfer - secure, efficient, transparent

But not only at individual points does the Logistic App from ALVARA | Digital Solutions bring advantages for value service companies, financial institutions, and retail. The connection to Interactive Cash Control (ICC) makes it possible to immediately transfer all cash process data to the online platform or the ICC app, where it can be secured and made available for further use. Previously, this was only feasible at the end of a tour. “In this way, we can track the entire cash process - from pickup to receipt at the Cash Center. This adds more transparency to the already more secure and efficient value logistics. All parties benefit from this,” says Ingo Hartmann.
