Ready for efficient cash management - thanks to digitalisation and automation

Digital processes mean efficiency and competitiveness for the economy. It is therefore hardly surprising that digitalisation is at the top of the agenda for 9 out of 10 companies. However, efforts often come to a standstill - partly due to a lack of knowledge and tools. The decisive steps: Firstly, those responsible need to illuminate and evaluate their processes and develop a strategy, otherwise they rely on wild actionism. Once the foundation has been laid, digitalisation and automation efforts can follow where appropriate. This also applies to financial institutions, retailers and cash-in-transit companies that want to make their cash management smarter, more secure and more efficient.
Automation - a hot topic (also) in 2025
Banks, retailers and cash-in-transit companies are increasingly being forced to organise their payment transaction processes more efficiently. Otherwise, costs and expenses will rise and weaken companies. Digitalisation and automation seem inevitable. A wide range of industries have long recognised this necessity. According to the KPMG Banking CEO Outlook, respondents say that digitalisation - as a necessary basis for automation - is one of the top tasks. This is because it brings decisive (competitive) advantages.
- Increased efficiency: Automated workflows reduce errors, avoid manual work steps and ensure faster processing.
- Real-time processing of transactions: This is particularly relevant in times when fast and, above all, KPI-driven processes can make all the difference.
- Minimisation of errors and compliance violations: Thanks to automated matching and validation, manual input errors can be virtually eliminated.
With the right systems, those responsible not only reduce costs, but also minimise risks and meet the growing legal requirements as well as customer wishes. In the area of cash management, they can achieve better control. Automation, for example in incident management, helps to quickly recognise errors and initiate automatic workflows to rectify them. But where do you start to reap the benefits?
Automation and digitalisation - our answer
For over 30 years, digital, automated processes have formed the basis for our innovative cash-related software solutions. In 2025, we will continue to rely on proven digital solutions for efficient, secure and transparent cash processes - and think ahead in all areas.
ICC App
Our ICC app has established itself as the leading solution for the efficient and transparent management of cash processes. It connects financial, retail and cash-in-transit companies and offers complete digital handling of cash processes. The app impresses with functions that not only make day-to-day work easier, but also significantly improve collaboration with the parties involved.
Paperless cash processes are a key benefit of the ICC app for retailers and financial institutions. From ordering change and handing over proceeds to authorising cash carriers and digital receipts - the app makes it possible to make processes more efficient and secure. Data is available to all relevant stakeholders in real time. Digital document storage allows quick access to receipts, while smart documentation functions for cash balances and branch safes optimise daily processes in branch operations. This end-to-end digitalisation reduces sources of error, avoids media disruptions and paves the way for standardised, automated collaboration between retailers as well as banks and their cash-in-transit service providers.
Digital vault management
Digitising cash processes is easy with our extended safe management system. The ICC app maps relevant processes efficiently and completely digitally, including precise inventory recording. It represents a solid and cost-effective alternative to cash recycler solutions without sacrificing a reliable database. This creates the basis for demand forecasts, for example to enable automatic change orders. The system automatically takes into account factors such as planned journeys, regional public holidays, lead times and historical consumption data.
We also prioritise innovation and continue to drive forward our solutions with artificial intelligence. Our research is focussed on enhancements such as AI-supported cash forecasting and inventory recording using image recognition in order to make processes even more efficient and secure in the future.
Pecunia - Cash Centre Software
With Pecunia 7 for cash-in-transit companies, banks and savings banks, we heralded a new era in cash management in 2023. Our cloud-based software generation sets new standards in efficiency, transparency and security. Thanks to its modern architecture, central data storage, user-centric interface and supplementary app, Pecunia 7 makes day-to-day work in the cash centre easier. The centralised database ensures data consistency and integrity as well as cost-effective and secure operation of the solution.
At the same time, innovative features such as KPI analyses and support for one-man logistics optimise processes and reduce costs. Pecunia can also be connected to high-speed cash processing machines to process large amounts of cash faster and save on human resources.
Our customers are already benefiting from the advantages of the new solution, such as the intuitive design and the simplified processes for route planning and execution. Pecunia 7 shows: We are consistently evolving to meet not only the current but also the future requirements of our customers.
So what's next? One focus this year is on the launch of our Pecunia app. In addition, our CashOrder portal will ensure efficient, digital ordering on the customer side. Cash-in-transit companies are thus introducing fast and uncomplicated order processing, which ultimately increases customer satisfaction.
2025: We are ready!
So our goal for 2025 remains unchanged: We want to use digital and automated processes to create a fully transparent cash cycle for our customers. With desirable outcomes: costs can be reduced, risks minimised and the challenges of tomorrow mastered thanks to foresight. Regular input from the industry, such as at our ‘BargeldDialog Handel’ expert exchange, helps us to combine theory and practice.
