2025 at ALVARA: Product, Customer, and Team Highlights
“Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how green your branches!” Before we say goodbye to gather beneath the sparkling Christmas tree with family and friends, let’s pause for a moment and look back on the year. After all, 2025 has gifted us many wonderful moments.
Product Highlights 2025
The year 2025 got off to an immediate obligation: electronic invoices in the B2B context. Phase 1 runs until December 31, 2026, during which electronic invoices must at least be received, processed, and archived. However, those responsible should already be pushing ahead with issuing e-invoices, even though domestic B2B transactions may still use existing formats such as paper or PDF invoices until the end of 2026. The next phases will then follow: from 2027, the obligation to send e-invoices will become binding for large companies, and from 2028 for all companies.
With Fakturio, our tool for automated invoicing, we have enabled our customers to use the standard e-invoicing format XRechnung since 2023. ZUGFeRD is also integrated. This makes sending e-invoices quick and efficient for companies and allowed us to provide direct support right from the start of the obligation.
Protecting cash holdings is essential, safes are indispensable in retail. But security should not be the only requirement a safe fulfills. Efficient safe management is also crucial. That’s why we developed a digital safe management solution via app. Transparency is its top priority, reliably answering previously unanswered questions through real-time documentation of safe balances. Bottlenecks or unnecessary surpluses can be avoided through additional features such as automated change ordering. A true all-round, worry-free package for modern safe management.
This year, Pecunia once again delivered a highlight: after several years of intensive work on a cloud-based ERP solution for cash-in-transit companies, the development of Pecunia 7 has made major progress. The motto of our Pecunia evolution: modern technology meets smart user experience. The first rollouts will begin next year—and we are already very much looking forward to it.
ALVARA in a Celebratory Mood
For us, 2025 was a year of anniversaries. First, we celebrated the birthday of our ICC app. In 2020, the decision was made to extend our existing web application with an app. After all, employees need to remain flexible and able to complete tasks not only at a stationary back-office workstation, but also on the go and without a PC. That’s why we started development and launched the ICC app in 2020. The core idea of the ICC platform, regardless of how customers use it, remains the same: it enables fast, efficient, and transparent cash processes, from cash ordering and returns to receipts and vouchers, all the way to digital authentication of cash couriers. We also popped the corks to celebrate 30 years of software systems for cash-in-transit companies. Since 1995, we have been a leading provider of software solutions for CIT companies, delivering secure and efficient applications. Route planning, cash processing, shipment tracking, and clearly documented transfers of liability ensure maximum transparency. The greatest confirmation of our work: many of our CIT customers have been using our solutions for decades. Thanks to our regular adaptations to the needs of the industry, we can look back on long-term customer satisfaction.
Customer Projects – Achieving More Together
Year after year, our customers give us the most rewarding moments. When they are convinced by our solutions and satisfied with our service, we know we’ve done everything right.
In 2025, we were able to continue a success story with SKO Dienstleistungs GmbH, a subsidiary of a savings bank. As in the Osnabrück cash center, SKO is relying on the Pecunia ERP suite at its new location. The solution connects employees, machines, and applications across the cash cycle and acts as a central control unit. In addition, the company recognized the benefits of connecting to ALVARA ICC (Interactive Cash Control), enabling business customers to enjoy greater convenience through fast, digital capture of cash orders and returns, as well as real-time order tracking. We were also pleased to welcome new customers. Three Sparkassen chose ALVARA ICC. Five additional retail companies have also been relying on our platform since 2025 to manage their cash processes, connecting all cash stakeholders. In the CIT sector, we are delighted to have gained a new customer for Pecunia. How wonderful that we can support these companies in the future with our digital solutions.
Team Highlights
ALVARA has been part of the YUVENDA Group since 2024. In January 2025, we therefore had the opportunity to attend the YUVENDA Summit. In Frankfurt, all business units of the leading European software platform came together. Each year, the focus is on exchanging insights on current technology trends—including a strategic outlook. Program highlights such as cooking together also contribute to team building. We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2026, when the focus will be on artificial intelligence in everyday work.
We also get to share personal happiness at ALVARA. In autumn, our Managing Director Steven Schwarznau and his long-time partner tied the knot and invited the team to celebrate this special moment together. Wedding bells also rang in October for our colleague Martin Bergholz from the Customer Support department.
